Houston Manufacturing Embraces SPACECOM

SpaceCom Web Banners 350x350

Houston is ranked as the largest manufacturing city in the United States with over 5,000 companies and 250,000 workers.  This may be a surprise to most readers and represents great resources and capabilities in our backyard.  Our manufacturing community is broadly known to serve the energy, petrochemical, life science, aerospace and electronics industries.  The subset of supporting industries and smaller niches creates a very diverse and capable workforce.  Houston has not done a great job bringing the diverse manufacturing community together to promote cross collaboration and communication of these capabilities to the region.  The Greater Houston Manufacturing Association was founded to help bring the local manufacturing community together to collaborate on common interests and promote the local capabilities and economic impact.  Houston is a great city to do business and has world class distribution through the Port of Houston, Rail, freeway access to the center of the United States, warehouse, transportation and logistics services.  We are excited about the future of our nation’s public and private space program and believe that Houston is very well positioned to capitalize on the assets and deep engineering and technical skill that have grown from the NASA Johnson Space Center and the world class contractors that have established significant investment and presence in the region.   The local manufacturing community has the assets, technology and capacity to help accelerate and efficiently bring new technologies and resources to market.  As a member of the Greater Houston Manufacturing Association we are proud to promote SpaceCom and to collaborate with their partners to help get the word out and connect the engineering and manufacturing needs to the local engineering firms, fabricators and manufacturing companies.

SpaceCom will be a catalyst for innovation and growth in the commercial development of space. Its dynamic, three-day event is specifically engineered to:

• Highlight ways space technologies cut across five target industries (medical, energy, transportation, communications and advanced manufacturing)
• Showcase examples of how business can exploit LEO and suborbital environments
• Accelerate the usage of the International Space Station National Laboratory
• Demonstrate why fostering close collaboration, partnerships and co-development on an international scale is so crucial
• Offer insights into the who and how to raise money for new ventures
• Provide existing space companies access to new customers

Join us in supporting the Spacecom conference November 17-19, 2015.

Chris Wasden’s New Book, Tension: The Energy of Innovation

Two of the core values that inspire and drive Texas Injection Molding are:

Innovative and Creative – Our employees are the most valuable asset of the company and the only asset that has the ability to innovate and generate creative ideas to provide solutions to customer challenges.  We will encourage teamwork, creative thinking, and innovation as a primary avenue to add value to our customers, reduce cost and improve quality.

An Adventure to Live – We will continuously evaluate business opportunities and seek to realize those opportunities that provide great value to the customer, inspire the organization and will provide great satisfaction to the organization when realized.

These values that are part of our DNA inspire us to come to work everyday and overcome the many complex engineering and business challenges encountered as a custom manufacturer every day.  We enjoy working with the entrepreneurs and creative product development people that drive growth and innovation in our customers business.  We know Chris Wasden from his time in Houston Texas as part of the Houston Technology Center. Chris has built an exciting career developing and commercializing products and is now sharing his experiences in his new book Tension:  The Energy of Innovation.  We have the privilege to collaborate with bringing plastic injection molded products to market in many industries and enjoy participating with our customers in moving through the innovation to commercialization life cycle.  Texas Injection Molding is pleased to support Chris Wasden’s work to identify the different personalities and requirements of the product life cycle.
