HDPE Plastic Injection Molding

Chemical-Resistant. Food-Safe. Impact-Tough.

Texas Injection Molding produces custom HDPE injection molded components —
chemical-resistant fittings, food-safe containers, industrial parts, and outdoor-durable hardware manufactured from high-density polyethylene for applications where chemical resistance, moisture resistance, and toughness are all required.

HDPE Plastic Injection Molding Solutions

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is one of the most chemically resistant and impact-tough thermoplastics available for injection molding. It resists virtually all acids, bases, alcohols, and many organic solvents. It absorbs essentially no moisture, is FDA-compliant in food-grade formulations, and it is one of the most recyclable plastics in commercial use.

Texas Injection Molding produces custom HDPE injection molded parts for chemical handling, agricultural, food processing, outdoor infrastructure, and industrial applications where chemical resistance and moisture insensitivity are more important than surface finish or dimensional precision.

FDA-compliant food-grade HDPE for food processing, agricultural, and food-contact applications

HDPE Injection Molding Capabilities

HDPE component manufacturing for chemical handling, agricultural, food processing, outdoor infrastructure, and industrial applications

Chemical handling fittings, caps, and container closures for industrial and agricultural use

Food-grade HDPE containers, bins, and food processing system components

Agricultural chemical system fittings, sprayer components, and storage components

Outdoor infrastructure components — delineator bases, channelizer weights, and traffic
hardware

Water and fluid handling components for plumbing, irrigation, and fluid transfer systems

Industrial trays, pallet components, and handling system parts requiring chemical resistance

HDPE Material & Quality Standards

HDPE’s performance advantages come with processing characteristics that require attention to
mold design and process control — high shrinkage, sensitivity to cooling uniformity, and surface finish limitations.

FDA 21 CFR food-contact compliant HDPE grades with material compliance documentation

Shrinkage management — HDPE shrinks 1.5 to 3.0%, requiring careful mold cavity sizing and process validation

Chemical resistance validation for specific acids, bases, and solvents on request

UV-stabilized HDPE grades for outdoor installations requiring long-term weathering resistance

Managing HDPE Shrinkage

HDPE has one of the highest mold shrinkage rates of any commodity injection molding material — 1.5 to 3.0% depending on grade, wall thickness, and process conditions. Mold cavities must be machined significantly oversize, and shrinkage must be validated during process development.

Texas Injection Molding factors HDPE-specific shrinkage into every mold design.

HDPE Chemical Resistance

HDPE resists virtually all inorganic acids, bases, and salts, most alcohols, and many ketones and esters. It is attacked by strong oxidizing acids, halogenated solvents, and aromatic hydrocarbons.

For chemical handling applications, we validate HDPE compatibility against your specific chemical environment before recommending it as the material of choice.

Why Choose Texas Injection Molding?

Engineering depth that protects your investment from concept through first delivery — and a track record of rescuing programs that started somewhere else.

HDPE Process Expertise

High shrinkage and sensitivity to cooling uniformity make HDPE more demanding to mold consistently than ABS or PC. We have the process knowledge to produce dimensionally consistent HDPE parts.

Food-Grade Material Documentation

FDA-compliant HDPE grades with full compliance documentation for food processing, agricultural, and food-contact applications.

Chemical Application Expertise

We validate HDPE chemical resistance against your specific exposure conditions — not generic resistance tables that may not cover your application.

High-Volume Capability

HDPE programs often run at high volumes. Our multi-cavity tooling capability and press capacity support the production economics HDPE programs require.

HDPE: The Right Material for Demanding Environments

HDPE’s combination of chemical resistance, moisture insensitivity, food-contact compliance, and recyclability makes it the material of choice for chemical handling, agricultural, food processing, and outdoor infrastructure applications. Texas Injection Molding produces custom HDPE injection molded parts with the process discipline that HDPE’s high shrinkage and surface sensitivity
demand.

From small fittings and closures to large structural containers and equipment components, our HDPE injection molding capability covers the full range of applications where chemical resistance and toughness take priority over surface finish and dimensional precision.
