Custom Engineering Polymers

High-Performance Resins. Engineered for Your Application.

Texas Injection Molding produces custom injection molded components from the full range of engineering thermoplastics — PC, nylon, Delrin, PEEK, PEI, PPS, and beyond — matched to your application’s mechanical, thermal, chemical, and regulatory requirements.

Custom Engineering Polymers Solutions

Engineering polymers is a broad category — but what it means in practice is matching the right resin to the specific demands of your application. A housing that must survive 20 years outdoors needs a different material than a gear running in a gearbox at 140 degrees C. A medical device component with USP Class VI biocompatibility requirements needs different documentation than an automotive underhood bracket.

Texas Injection Molding works with the full range of engineering thermoplastics — from ABS and polycarbonate through glass-filled nylon and Delrin to PEEK, PEI, and PPS — and has the material knowledge to select, specify, and process the right resin for your application. We do not default to the easiest material to mold; we recommend the material that performs.

Material selection as an engineering decision — not a catalog lookup.

Engineering Polymer Materials and Capabilities

Custom injection molded components in engineering and high-performance thermoplastics matched to structural, thermal, chemical, and regulatory application requirements.

Polycarbonate (PC): Optical clarity, impact strength, and heat resistance for enclosures and optical components

Nylon (PA 6, PA 6/6, PA 12, GF grades): Wear resistance, structural strength, and thermal performance for mechanical parts

Acetal / Delrin (POM): Dimensional stability, low friction, and fatigue resistance for precision mechanical parts

PEEK: Extreme heat (240 degrees C continuous), biocompatibility, and inherent flame rating for demanding applications

PEI (Ultem): Highest Tg amorphous thermoplastic, FAR 25.853 compliant for aerospace, steam autoclavable for medical

PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide): Chemical resistance plus 200 degrees C service for automotive and fluid system components

Engineering Polymer Material Selection Standards

Material selection for engineering polymer programs requires matching resin properties to application requirements — mechanical, thermal, chemical, and regulatory — before tooling is committed.

Application-specific material selection review — mechanical loading, temperature, chemical exposure, and compliance requirements

High-performance processing capability — PEEK (360 to 400 degrees C melt), PEI, and PPS require specialized equipment and process knowledge

Regulatory compliance documentation — FDA, UL 94, FAR 25.853, USP Class VI, NSF/ANSI as required by application

Material lot traceability and certificates of conformance for regulated and high-reliability applications

High-Performance Resin Processing

Processing PEEK, PEI, and PPS requires equipment and process knowledge that standard injection molding operations cannot provide. Melt temperatures of 360 to 400 degrees C, mold temperatures of 160 to 200 degrees C, and specialized screws designed for these demanding materials are prerequisites. Texas Injection Molding has the equipment and experience to process high-performance engineering polymers correctly.

Engineering Polymer Material Selection Framework

Start with the application requirements — what temperature must the part survive, what chemicals will it contact, what loads will it carry, what regulatory compliance is required? Then work backward to the material family and grade. Texas Injection Molding conducts material selection reviews as part of every engineering polymer program to ensure the right resin is specified before tooling investment is committed.

Why Choose Texas Injection Molding?

Because the partner that molds your parts should be accountable for storing, packaging, and shipping them in the way your operation actually needs them.

Full Engineering Polymer Range

From ABS and PC through PEEK and PEI — we work with the full spectrum of engineering thermoplastics and can recommend the right material for your application requirements.

High-Performance Processing Capability

PEEK, PEI, and PPS require specialized equipment and process knowledge. Our facility and team have both.

Material Selection Expertise

We review your application requirements and recommend materials — we do not just process what you specify without evaluating whether it is the right choice.

Regulatory Documentation

FDA, UL 94, FAR 25.853, USP Class VI, NSF/ANSI — we maintain the compliance documentation engineering polymer applications in regulated industries require.

The Right Engineering Polymer for Every Application

Engineering polymers cover a wide performance range — and the gap between the wrong material and the right one can be the difference between a part that performs for 20 years and one that fails in its first service cycle. Texas Injection Molding applies engineering discipline to material selection, not just manufacturing.

Our custom engineering polymers capability spans the full range from standard engineering grades through the most demanding high-performance thermoplastics — processed correctly, documented properly, and delivered with the quality assurance regulated and high-reliability applications require.
