Plastic Printing

We offer several plastic printing technologies to mark and decorate plastic parts.

Pad Printing: Pad Printing involves the process of transferring ink from a silicone pad onto a custom etched design while automated equipment shuttles the pad, depositing the design on the specified location. This process is typically used to showcase a company logo, instructions, warning descriptions, and more. Pad printing is uniquely suited to print on three dimensional surfaces and difficult to print objects.   Contact us today to learn more about how pad printing can be used for your next project.

Hot Stamping:  Hot stamping is the process of transferring a decorative polyester foil using a heated die to the plastic part.  The foil can be metallized to provide a wide variety of metal finishes including the most common gloss, matte or brushed chrome, silver or gold finishes.  Foils are also available in a wide variety of stock colors to match many PMS colors.  Multiple colors can be applied to raised surfaces on the plastics.  Surfaces must be flat.  Hot staming is limited to mostly flat surfaces.

Thermal Transfer:  Thermal Transfer is the process of screen printing one or many colors on a clear polyester film followed by a heat activated adhesive.  A heated roller with pressure transfers the printed image to the plastic.  This is a good option for custom colors and multi-color logos and images. Thermal transfer printing is limited to flat surfaces.

Digital Printing:  Digital printing allows us to apply a UV-LED cured ink at high resolution (up to 1200 DPI) CMYK images directly to plastic surfaces.  Clear coats can also be printed to provide additional abrasion resistance and high gloss images.  Digital printing is limited to mostly flat surfaces.

Dot Peen Marking:  Dot Peen engraving machines work by electromechanically striking the surface with a diamond or carbide tool in a series of closely spaced dots to create images, numbers or letters.  Dot Peen Marking allows us to put a permanent marking on the plastic that can be serialized to each individual part.  This is used for lot, date code or part specific serialization for traceability and permanent marking.  Dot Peen can engrave plastic, metal or other hard surfaces.  Dot Peen marking can print on curved or 3D surfaces as accessible to the imaging tool.
